Promoted by the Bergamo Manufacturers' Association (Confindustria Bergamo), Intellimech is a consortium of companies dedicated to interdisciplinary research in the field of mechatronics. The Consortium’s research activities encompass advanced electronic design, IT design and ICT systems design, as well as general mechanical design, for applications in a diverse range of industries.

The Consortium creates conditions in which its members can exploit as fully as possible the current opportunities in the fields of automation, robotics and mechatronics. It also manages R&D and interdisciplinary experimental programmes on pre-competitive technology platforms and produces prototypes for innovative, multi-industry applications that are relevant to the sectors in which the members operate.
These projects are implemented in the Consortium's own laboratories and in collaboration with the most highly respected names in international academic and industrial research. The methodologies deployed focus on the integration of the technologies and expertise required to reach new frontiers of research and to kick-start innovative processes (radical, incremental, relating to product and process) that will subsequently give rise to the development of a range of proprietary applications.

The Consortium also provides assistance and technical consultancy, supports the training of qualified personnel, manages corporate communications and technical/scientific information and deals with the dissemination of technologies.

The technical, managerial and administrative operations of the Consortium are carried out in collaboration with Confindustria Bergamo, Kilometro Rosso and Servitec.
