UNIHEAT Srl was established in 2007 is the first spin-off company from the University of Bergamo, set up by a group of researchers from the University together with NANTO Srl, operating in the field of nanotechnology know-how transfer.
UNIHEAT offers its customers high-level technical and scientific consultancy services in the field of fluid dynamics, heat exchanging and advanced thermal control.
UNIHEAT also markets specialized software such as SINDA/FLUINT and GFS and hardware components such as heat pipes and dissipators.
Recently a new Energy Unit called ‘SENECA’ has been launched. Seneca offers consultancy services regarding energy certification, diagnosis and energy planning, as well as evaluating environmental sustainability.
As a Kilometro Rosso partner, UNIHEAT’s R&D activity will be concerned with the following:

• numerical algorithms to study the thermal fluid dynamics of complex flows;
• thermal components, including micro- and nanoscale components ;
• polymer heat pipes and nanoparticles, heat exchangers (design and production);
• GFS algorithm implementation;
• optimization of heat exchange in various fields, such as: matrix and moulds for plastic materials, biomedical equipment and electronic heat control systems;
• feasibility projects to develop new production sites for the above-mentioned technologies;
• dynamic energy simulations for buildings, energy certification, evaluation of low energy impact building solutions, preparation of protocol documents regarding energy and environmental sustainability (CASACLIMA, MINERGIE, PASSIVHAUS, ITACA);
• technological know-how transfer and nanotechnologies.
